What to expect
Laguna Seca packs more elevation change per kilometre than almost any circuit in the world, crowned by the Corkscrew — a blind left-right that falls the height of a five-storey building. It also enforces one of the strictest sound limits in motorsport (90 dB on many days), which catches out visitors with track exhausts. Check your day's limit before you book.
What the ratings mean for your day
Difficulty 4/5 — Complex. A complex lap that rewards homework. Onboard videos and corner names studied before you arrive convert directly into useful laps on the day.
Danger 4/5 — Unforgiving. Barriers, banks or walls wait close to the racing line in places. Your build-up discipline is the main safety system here: pace comes last, after knowledge.
