What to expect

Cadwell Park is barely wider than a country lane in places and packs woodland, blind crests and genuine airtime into 3.5 km. It is primarily a motorcycle venue — car track days are rarer and often noise-restricted — and the Mountain section will put wheels off the ground whether you asked or not.

What the ratings mean for your day

Difficulty 4/5 — Complex. A complex lap that rewards homework. Onboard videos and corner names studied before you arrive convert directly into useful laps on the day.

Danger 4/5 — Unforgiving. Barriers, banks or walls wait close to the racing line in places. Your build-up discipline is the main safety system here: pace comes last, after knowledge.

Local knowledge

  • The Mountain launches bikes airborne. Roll it for the first sessions — no ego.
  • Track width leaves no spare room — plan overtakes for the straights and be predictable everywhere else.

How firstlap tunes your plan here

  • High-consequence circuit rules — an extra must-do about margin, fatigue and never chasing lap times here.
  • Layout homework — a task to learn the lap in sections (video or sim) before you arrive.

Ratings are editorial. Difficulty scores how hard the layout is to learn; danger scores what a mistake costs. They are our honest judgement as track day drivers — not an official scale — and they exist to calibrate your preparation, not to rank bravery.
