Road America is the United States' grand old road course: long straights that build serious speed, fast sweepers through the trees, and a paddock culture built on decades of club racing. Track days run through the season via several organizations, and the length means you get real rest between corners while you learn. Respect arrives quickly at the Kink.
What the ratings mean for your day
Difficulty 3/5 — Moderate. A medium-complexity lap: you will know where it goes by lunch, and you will still be finding better lines in the last session. Bring patience.
Danger 3/5 — Moderate. A mixed bag: some corners forgive, some do not. Part of learning this circuit is learning where the hard edges are — before you push, not after.
Local knowledge
- The Kink is the corner reputations are made and lost in. Lift early for the first sessions; it never stops deserving respect.
- Three long straights mean three honest braking zones. Use markers, not feel, into Turns 1, 5 and Canada Corner.
